Rauher Kulm Hoisting Mission

Sometime in 1984-85 15th Med was requested to hoist equipment to the top of Rauher Kulm, an inactive volcano nearby, to assist German workers who needed to remove the remains of an old forest fire scouting tower which had burned down (melted). We obliged.
