Hi Erik and welcome to the 15th Med website. I believe that Maj Wakefield was still there when I got into the unit in Jun 83. 22298 was still in service at the time as well as 524, 666, 813, 498, and cant remember what the last one was. I like you ended up in Med Supply due to my civilian medical background and because I did it in the 3 Plt 498th Med at Ft Stewart, Ga. After I got into the unit I was able to get a lot of civilian equipment. I was able to get us set up with Nurenburg hospital to do training in the ER, L & D, and Operating room doing IV's for the Gas Guy. We were also doing time in the Cardiac IC and Regular IC. We would do 2 weeks at a time and rotate though 2 departments one for a week then another for the 2nd week. I ended up being the until April of 87 and went though 2 other commanders and a lotof pilots and other guys. I did ALSE, Admin , and Document control making sure we had also of the manuels that we needed. I also did NBC spec. as well. We had a great group of Pilots, Medics and crew chiefs during that time. Toards the end of my time we changed over to the Black Hawks. I ended up with 900 hours of flight time in the Huey from June of 80 when I joined 3/498th at Stewart and the 15th until we went ot the 60's, I also ended up with right at 100 hours in the 60's. Before you left did you have a couple of pilots Cal Irvin and Art Doyle, I served with them at Stewart. Well so for being so long winded again welcome to the 15th Med web site
